Morning breaks in.
As bold and bastard as it gets. Gathering the blanket around myself, here I am, sleepy, just browsing through this magazine: lots of pictures and just so few words. I create phrases sieving like a baby thru the coloured figures. Ursula Points CD starts playing. In the meantime I decode what my eyes capture page after page. Frawning girls/Smiling girls. My brain comes to judge: Amphetamine. Tachycardia. Diuretics. Anorexia. Insomnia. Winking glances. Hollow cheeks. Everything wrapped into expensive fashion clothes. Sweet music in this “elsewhere”; far away (not even so much) from nightmares. Hunger. Breakfast… at last. This morning: toasts, eggs, barley-coffee, cookies and fuck with the complexes of the girlies on the magazine. Fog seems wandering in the room and it definitely finds sympathy in the acoustic seams caressing the parquet. “A kingdom born of chewing gum and these notions burn. Lucifer.” This record talks to that side of the mind that is still in bed. The grey part that perennially floats between the unconscious and the dawn. Slowed down and wet, shining Shoegazer. One of the best debut albums of this 2006. It’s amazing how two only musicians can light a bonfire into your stomach and keep it alive without any tension release. The CD ranges from the psychedelic Bel Auburn sonic impressions and Track a Tiger melancholy; up to better known artists like Hope Sandoval and all those that, thru time, alternated intimacy feelings, poetry and phrases to be remembered (“Come here baby, oceans won’t free you from your heart”) with an electric conviction. All melted into a sweet, cloying acid taste. Too much blur. Toomuchblurtoomuchtoo much blur round here. Too much……so sweet. Again, please. The music is over and I decide to fall back in bed. Maybe I will just resume by the tail that purple nightmare in which about everything appeared being so hazy. “The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had”: this one is not mine, but It fits me perfectly since awhile. Enjoy all this bright stars. Goodnight. |
